"Music and Dialogue" is an international project in eastern Ukraine that brings together musicians, cultural activists and spectators of different nationalities, cultures, languages and social backgrounds.
In 2020, due to the epidemiological situation, the main part of the project was held online, and everyone, regardless of city and country of residence, had the opportunity to become part of this project.
In November 2020, professional musicians from Germany, Ukraine, Russia and Belarus gave online masterclasses and lectures on baroque music for students of music colleges and conservatories.
Debates on acute topics developed jointly with local and international partners became an important part of the project — this allowed a large number of people to take part in a lively and inspiring dialogue about different life realities.
The project aims to unite people in their efforts to build a joint future, offers an intellectually stimulating environment and provides the public with the opportunity to experience a spirit of cooperation based on creativity, optimism and active communication. "Music" and "dialogue" are the ways to overcome prejudices, stereotypes and misunderstandings generated by the conflict, and introduce a discourse on human values.
The target group of the project covers a wide audience: from students to seniors, people of different professional backgrounds, civic activists and artists. Following the project's motto, all events provide a framework to experience the principle of listening for a better understanding.
